A Puli-type dog called ‘The Auditor’ lived at the Berkeley Pit, a contaminated copper mine and Superfund site in Montana from 1986 to 2003. Locals provided food and shelter but it mostly avoided humans. When it died, its hair turned out to have 128 times the normal arsenic level.
