So our regular readers might have noticed that we haven’t written any posts in the past couple of weeks, which is highly unusual for us. We are sorry to announce that, on April 8, 2020 due to a coordinated attack on our site and our social media profiles, first our site went down. Then our Pinterest profile and then subsequently our Facebook profile was also suspended. On investigation, we found that a group of highly organized individuals or maybe a single individual on Pinterest copied every single fact images from our website and started diverting our Pinterest readers to their spammy websites. This behavior caused our profile to be flagged as spam because our images matched theirs and ultimately our profile was suspended. We have been trying to reach Pinterest support, but unfortunately, it seems that due to the worldwide pandemic they are facing staff shortages and we have been unable to get a human to respond to our queries. In the last few weeks, we have been trying to identify these spammers on Pinterest and report them and their pins. We have only found partial success in this endeavor. We have reported more than 12,000 such spam pins and we have reported over 50+ spammy Pinterest accounts. We are hopeful that we will be able to get our account back. If any of our readers are on the Pinterest team, I would request them to please help us get our account back. Until then, we will be busy trying to purge these spam pins from Pinterest and we will keep our readers updated.
