Eminem set the Guinness World Record with "Rap God" for most words in a hit single. The song has a record-breaking 1560 words in 6 minutes 4 seconds and averaging 4.28 words per second. One section of the song features 97 words in 15 seconds at 6.5 words per second.


2. Former president of Liberia Charles King holds the Guinness World record for the most fraudulent election ever having won the 1927 election with 234,000 votes in a country of 15,000 voters.


3. Sergey Bubka broke the pole vault world record in 1984 and then kept breaking it every year after by as small an amount as possible for the reward money.


4. A man named Benjamin Gwin holds a Guinness World Record for most completions of Dark Souls using alternative controllers (including a Rock Band drumkit).


5. In 1967, a 13-year-old Canadian girl named Maureen Mancuso ran the fastest marathon by a female, knocking more than four minutes off the previous world record. While running she was beaming and saying, “gee, this is great!" Two minutes after the race, a doctor declared that her heart rate had already returned to normal.

An airplane crashed into the Empire State Building in 1945. Among other damages, plane parts severed the cables for an elevator and the woman (Betty Lou Oliver) inside fell over 70 stories. She lived and holds the world record for the longest survived elevator fall.


7. Iran tried to get into the Guinness book of world records by making the world's largest sandwich. But people started eating it before it could be officially measured so they failed.


8. Armenian fin swimmer Shavarsh Karapetyan was finishing a 12-mile run when he heard a bus crash into the water. He dove down 33 feet and rescued 20 people, 1 at a time. He is an 11-time World Record holder, 17-time World Champion, 13-time European Champion and 7-time USSR Champion.


9. The world record for the largest number ever counted to belongs to Jeremy Harper. He streamed the entire process online and raised money for charity. He reached 1,000,000. It took him 3 months.


10. An Ethiopian Olympic runner named Abebe Bikila couldn't find a comfortable pair of shoes, so he ran the 1960 Olympic Marathon in Rome barefoot, finished first, and set a new World Record.

The Simpsons is not the longest running cartoon series of all time. The Guinness World record is held by Sazae-san, with more than 7000 episodes, which has been running since 1969 in Japan.


17. The Guinness World Record for longest note ever recorded on a saxophone, at 45 minutes and 47 seconds, is held by Kenny G.


18. In 1983, hundreds of workers broke a world record by building a 3 bedroom home in just 3 hours. It was later sold to buyers who weren't told about home's origin. The home was an instant nightmare: uneven slab, burst pipes, flawed roof, mismatched paint, buckled walls, crooked doors, faulty sewer, etc.


19. On January 22, 1943, the temperature in Spearfish, South Dakota, changed from -4°F to 45°F in just two minutes, setting a world record. The temperature eventually rose to 54°F before dropping back to -4°F. This was caused by a Chinook wind, which caused this extreme temperature fluctuation in such a short amount of time.

24. Lois Gibson, who after being assaulted and nearly died from her injuries, volunteered to draw police sketches for the Houston Police Department. She now holds the Guinness World Record as the most successful sketch artist ever, having helped solve over 1,000 crimes in her 30-year career.


25. Guinness World Records had to ban a certain type of paper aircraft after a guy flew it for 30 minutes straight.
