There have been documented cases of people committing murders while sleepwalking. In one case a man named Kenneth Parker managed to drive 20 kilometers to his in-law's house and murdered his mother-in-law all while sleepwalking. He immediately turned himself in and was later acquitted.

2. In 2001, a hit-and-run accident left the victim, Gregory Glen Biggs, lodged in the windshield of Chante Jawan Mallard’s car. Mallard drove home, leaving the injured Biggs stuck in her windshield, and parked her car in her garage where he died several hours later.

3. George Remus was an infamous prohibition era bootlegger, who after being released from jail for bootlegging, murdered his estranged wife, Augusta Imogene Brown Holmes in broad daylight. She had stolen his fortune and attempted to have him killed after running off with a corrupt federal agent. He was acquitted by a jury after only 19 minutes of deliberation.

4. In 1864, the Third Colorado Cavalry under Colonel John Chivington murdered hundreds of Native American women and children in what would become known as the Sand Creek Massacre. Womens' genitals were cut off and taken as trophies.

5. An Irish woman named Bridget Cleary was murdered by her husband in 1895. He stated that his motive for the crime was his belief that she had been abducted by fairies with a changeling left in her place. He claimed to have slain only the changeling.

18th century Persian King Agha Mohammad Khan ordered the execution of two of his servants for being too loud. Since it was a holy day, he postponed their execution by a day and made the servants return to their duties. They murdered the king in his sleep that night.

7. The “Buckskin Girl” was murdered in 1981. Unable to be identified, she was named after her coat. In 2017, an unrefrigerated lab vial of her blood was successfully DNA analyzed and she was identified as Marcia King. Her mother was located still living in the same house, refusing to move or change phone numbers hoping for her return.

8. Madame Popova was an 19th century woman who operated a murder-for-hire service in Russia that specialized in liberating married women from their cruel husbands for a fee. She murdered over 300 victims, by using poison, her own hands, a weapon, or hiring an assassin.

9. On the 1st of March in 2000, Katherine Knight murdered her husband John Charles Thomas Price, then disemboweled and carved up his body. She proceeded to cook his head in a stew and roasted his buttocks in the oven with vegetables. They were then served as steaks with notes addressed to his son and daughter.

10. In 1982, 7 people were murdered via cyanide-laced Tylenol capsules. The tampered pills were all purchased from the Chicagoland stores. The perpetrator behind these murders remains at large and no one was ever charged.

In 2002, Antron Singleton a.k.a. Rapper Big Lurch murdered his girlfriend Tynisha Ysais and ate her lungs under the influence of PCP.

12. A 12-year-old boy named Alam Khan saw his own father being murdered by a family friend. He wanted to avenge his father’s death and planned for 12 years before killing the alleged murderer in a revenge attack. He cut him into 12 pieces, one each for the years he had to wait.

13. In 1993, a 2-year-old boy named James Bulger was taken away from his mother and murdered by two 10-year-old boys. The boys threw paint in his face, threw bricks, and dropped a 10kg rod on his head. In order to cover their tracks, they left James on rail tracks to make it look like a train accident.

14. Bruno Fernandes das Dores de Souza is a Brazilian footballer who was convicted of the murder of his mistress Eliza Samudio in 2013. Samudio’s body was cut up and some parts were fed to dogs. Bruno has since been released and continues to play and receive offers from teams.

15. Israel Keyes was a serial killer who had no preferred victim type and never killed in the same area twice. For one murder, he flew to Chicago and rented a car to get to Vermont, then used a murder kit he had hidden two years earlier. When shopping, he kept his phone off and only paid in cash.

In 945, Igor of Kiev, while attempting to collect tributes from the neighboring Drevlians, was murdered by being attached to two bent birch trees, which when released in opposite directions, tore his body in half.

17. A 14-year-old boy named Emmett Till was lynched in Mississippi in 1955 after flirting with a white woman. His killers were acquitted of the crime and later admitted to the murder. Till's mother had an open-casket funeral to display the injustice, helping spur the civil rights movement.

18. In October of 1994, when The "Order of the Solar Temple" famously began their mass suicide plot, they began with the murder of a 3-Month-Old boy named Emmanuel Dutoit, believed to be the Anti-Christ, whom they stabbed repeatedly with a wooden stake.

19. Jane Stanford, the founder of Stanford University, was murdered by strychnine poisoning. The president of the university at the time, David Starr Jordan, was suspected of covering up the murder. The killer was never found.

20. The murder of Laetitia Toureaux is a real life locked-room mystery. She was found stabbed in an empty carriage in Paris Metro. No one was seen entering the car. Her killer had less than 90 seconds to commit the crime and was never caught.

In 2010, 26-year-old man named Hugo Hernandez was kidnapped by Mexican cartel and killed. His corpse was cut into seven pieces and his face was stitched onto a soccer ball as a threat to rivals.

22. ‘The Boy in the Box’ is a still unsolved murder of a toddler whose naked, battered body was found in a cardboard box in a wooded area of Philadelphia in 1957.

23. In 1922, Union workers in Southern Illinois made 19 replacement miners crawl to their own graves before beating, shooting, urinating on, and slitting their throats while a mob of 1,000 cheered.

24. Richard B. Fitzgibbon Jr., who is known as the first American to die in Vietnam, was actually murdered by a fellow soldier in 1956. He was giving candy to local children when he bumped into a drunken colleague who shot him on sight. It took 43 years for his name to be added to the Vietnam War Memorial.

25. Two murderers in a labor camp in Siberia persuaded a man named Ivan Vasilievich to escape with them. Ivan was a well-fed cook and they ate him on their journey towards freedom.
