In 2016, Anchorage, Alaska was so snow-starved that they actually had to import 7 train cars full of snow for the starting section of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race.

RE: Fact #2 (1958 Alaska tsunami) – This tsunami was caused by a landslide in an inlet far from any populated areas. A bit like dropping a baseball into a glass of water; a lot of splash but it didn’t cover a lot of Alaska.
