The Seke language has only about 700 native speakers and is traditionally spoken in five mountainous villages in Nepal's Mustang District in the Himalayas: Tangbe, Tetang, Chuksang, Chaile, and Gyakar. Around 100 Seke speakers now live in New York City. Remarkably, half of them, approximately 50 people, reportedly live in the same Brooklyn apartment building, placing roughly one-fourteenth of the language's global community under a single roof.
