South Park's 50-50 Revenue Split

In 2007, South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone negotiated a landmark deal giving them a 50-50 split of Comedy Central's digital revenue from the series. As streaming increased the value of South Park's library, those rights strengthened their position in later negotiations. In 2021, the pair signed a six-year ViacomCBS agreement reportedly worth $935 million to continue the show through 2027 and produce 14 projects for Paramount+, making it one of television's richest deals.
