Zardoz Makeup Enraged Sean Connery

During the aging montage for Zardoz (1974), Scottish actor Sean Connery endured a full day of heavy makeup that he hated, only for the laboratory to scratch the footage. The production filmed the sequence again, but an assistant camera-loader accidentally opened the camera and exposed the undeveloped film, forcing Connery to repeat everything for a third time. Director John Boorman said Connery went after the camera-loader and nearly killed him before three grips restrained the furious actor. Connery eventually completed the sequence, and the third version appeared in the finished film.
