Parton Congratulated Three 6 Mafia

At the 2006 Academy Awards, Memphis rap group Three 6 Mafia won Best Original Song for "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp" from Hustle & Flow, competing against Dolly Parton's nominated song "Travelin' Thru." When the group returned to Memphis, Parton sent them a signed congratulatory letter saying she was "just glad that the Oscar came back to Tennessee one way or another." The victory made Three 6 Mafia the first hip-hop group to win an Academy Award.
