Zacharie Cloutier Links Eight Celebrities

In 1634, a French carpenter named Zacharie Cloutier settled in Beauport, New France, in what is now Quebec. Researchers at the University of Montreal later counted 10,850 of his French-Canadian descendants by 1800, more than for any other Quebec colonist. His documented descendants include Canadian singers Justin Bieber, Celine Dion, Shania Twain, and Alanis Morissette, Canadian actors Ryan Gosling and Jim Carrey, American singer Madonna, and American actress Angelina Jolie.
