Agha Mohammad Khan Delayed Execution

In 1797, Persian king Agha Mohammad Khan Qajar ordered a Georgian servant named Sadegh Gorji and a valet named Khodadad Esfahani executed after their loud quarrel angered him. Because it was Friday evening, the Islamic holy day, he postponed their executions until Saturday and ordered them back to their duties unchained. Knowing the king would carry out his order, the two men joined another valet and murdered Agha Mohammad Khan with daggers and knives as he slept.
