Cavendish Lost Scientific Credit Recognition

English scientist Henry Cavendish anticipated several major scientific laws, including results later associated with Ohm's Law, Dalton's Law of Partial Pressures, and Charles's Law, years before they were formally published by others. Cavendish rarely published his findings or shared them with fellow scientists, largely because of his extreme shyness and reclusive personality. After his notebooks were examined long after his death, historians realized that he had made many of these discoveries first.
