Nikola Tesla possessed such extraordinary mathematical ability that he could perform integral calculus entirely in his head while he was a student. His teachers found his answers so accurate that they suspected he was cheating because he rarely wrote out his calculations. Tesla later recalled that convincing them his mental calculations were genuine proved almost as difficult as solving the problems themselves.
