Jack Parsons' Extraordinary Life Story

Jack Parsons' Extraordinary Life Story

American rocket engineer Jack Parsons helped pioneer modern rocketry, worked with Howard Hughes, and was also an occultist and follower of Aleister Crowley. In the failed "Allied Enterprises" yacht venture in 1946, L. Ron Hubbard defrauded Parsons of a significant portion of his life savings. He was also known for brewing his own absinthe at home. Parsons died in 1952 after an explosion at his home laboratory in Pasadena, California, and one colleague later claimed he had been attempting to create a homunculus, although the cause of the explosion was never conclusively established.
