Albert Hofmann Discovered LSD Visions

In 1943, Swiss chemist Albert Hofmann accidentally discovered LSD’s hallucinogenic effects five years after he first synthesized it in 1938. Hofmann had been studying lysergic acid compounds from ergot when he apparently absorbed a small amount of LSD and began feeling restless, dizzy, and slightly drunk. When he went home and closed his eyes, he saw vivid images, shapes, and colors moving through his mind. The experience led him to deliberately test the compound again, confirming that LSD had powerful psychoactive effects.
