Jerry Stiller Created Comedy Marriage

In 1953, American actor and comedian Jerry Stiller met Anne Meara, and they married in 1954. Meara had not considered doing comedy until Stiller suggested it, and the two became the comedy team: Stiller and Meara. Before Stiller became widely known as Frank Costanza on "Seinfeld," he and Meara built a successful comedy career in the 1960s and 1970s. Their marriage lasted more than 60 years, until Meara’s death in 2015.
