Michael Uslan Bought Batman Film Rights

American producer and lawyer Michael E. Uslan taught the first accredited university course on comic books, and as a teen he loved Batman’s serious comics while hating the campy 1960s TV version. In 1979, he and producer Benjamin Melniker bought Batman’s film rights and then finally got their grounded take onto screens, starting with Tim Burton’s 1989 "Batman." Since then, Uslan has held an executive producer credit on Warner Bros. Batman and related films through "The Batman" (2022) and "Joker: Folie à Deux" (2024).
