Zatara Debuted in Action Comics #1

In Action Comics #1 (1938), Superman did not debut alone, because DC also introduced Zatara the Magician, one of the company’s earliest costumed heroes. Zatara’s legacy later snapped into focus through his daughter, Zatanna Zatara, but she did not arrive until Hawkman #4 (November 1964), 26 years after her father’s first appearance.
