Mattel Sold Empty Invisible Jet

Mattel actually sold Wonder Woman’s “Invisible Jet” as a real collectible after it started as an April Fool’s gag. The “toy” was basically an empty Hot Wheels-style package, because the whole joke was that the jet was invisible, so there was nothing inside. Enough fans asked for it that Mattel turned the prank into a product sold as a Comic-Con item, which made the empty package itself the punchline collectors paid for.
