In 1929, Eva Braun was a 17-year-old assistant working in Munich when she met Adolf Hitler, who was then 40 years old. Hitler had already become one of Germany’s most prominent political figures, while Braun was still a teenager. Their relationship continued for years in relative secrecy as Hitler rose to power. Braun eventually became his wife, but only in the final hours before both died in Berlin in 1945.
