Strauss & Howe Name Millennials

The term “Millennials” was coined in 1991 by American historians William Strauss and Neil Howe while researching patterns of American generational cycles. They introduced the name in their book Generations, referring to the cohort expected to come of age around the year 2000. At the time, most people in that generation were still children, and many had not yet finished high school. Strauss and Howe predicted that Millennials would eventually become “the next Greatest Generation.”
