Nashville’s $1.26B Stadium Subsidy

The New Nissan Stadium, future home of the Tennessee Titans, is being built in Nashville, Tennessee, with a projected cost of $2.1 billion (as of March 2026). Of that total, $1.26 billion comes from state and local public funds, including $500 million from the state of Tennessee and $760 million in city-issued bonds. This level of taxpayer support makes it the largest public subsidy ever committed to a sports stadium in U.S. history. The 60,000-seat domed venue is scheduled to open in 2027 and will replace the Titans’ current stadium nearby.
