America Stores Electricity In Water

The United States stores about 94 percent of its electricity in the form of pumped hydroelectric storage, which uses water reservoirs rather than conventional batteries. As of 2018, the U.S. had more than 25 gigawatts of electricity storage capacity, and roughly 94 percent of it came from pumped hydro facilities built mostly in the 1970s.
