In 2016, British actor Henry Cavill, who played Superman in the film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, tested whether Superman’s simple disguise could work in real life. Cavill walked through Times Square in New York wearing a Superman T-shirt and stood beneath giant billboards of his own face promoting the movie. Despite the massive advertisements and crowds, no one recognized him as the actor playing Superman. Cavill later said the stunt convinced him that Clark Kent’s simple disguise, just a pair of glasses, might actually work.
