Actress Rebel Wilson decided to pursue acting after a malaria-induced hallucination in which she imagined herself winning an Academy Award. She contracted malaria while working in South Africa as a youth ambassador for Rotary International. During the illness, the vivid hallucination convinced her that acting was the path she should follow.
