Nannie Doss Deadly Family Trail

American serial killer Nannie Doss, known by nicknames such as the “Giggling Granny,” “Lonely Hearts Killer,” “Black Widow,” and “Lady Bluebeard,” carried out a series of poisonings across the United States from the 1920s through the 1950s. After the sudden death of her fifth husband, Samuel Doss, in 1954, investigators grew suspicious and ordered an autopsy. The examination revealed arsenic poisoning, prompting a deeper investigation into earlier deaths connected to her. Authorities soon discovered that Doss had murdered four of her husbands, two of her children, two sisters, her mother, two grandsons, and her mother-in-law.
