In 1969, future serial killer Richard Cottingham worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield in New York City while beginning his career in the computer field. At the same office, another employee was Rodney Alcala, who would later become a notorious murderer linked to multiple killings across the United States in the 1970s. Years later, investigators realized that the two men had once worked in the same workplace during the same period. Both men later went on to commit a series of brutal murders that shocked the country. Despite the strange coincidence, each serial killer later denied knowing or interacting with the other while they worked there.
