Between 1986 and 1988, South Korean serial killer Kim Sun-ja carried out a series of poisonings that targeted acquaintances and relatives. She often used cyanide mixed into drinks or food, a method that left several victims dead during the two-year killing spree. In one case, Kim secretly laced a friend’s tea with cyanide, which caused the woman to suddenly begin vomiting. Kim urged the victim to drink more of the beverage, claiming it would help her feel better. The suspicious friend refused, becoming the only known survivor among the six poisoning victims linked to the serial killer.
