Golden State Killer Meeting Victims

During the late 1970s, residents in Sacramento County, California, attended public meetings to discuss a wave of home invasions and assaults linked to the man later identified as Joseph James DeAngelo. At one meeting, a husband stood up and mocked the idea that the attacker wouldn’t dare to invade a home if a man was present. Unbeknownst to the crowd, the serial killer, later nicknamed the Golden State Killer, was reportedly present and listening. After the meeting, he secretly followed the couple home to learn where they lived. About six months later, he returned and attacked them.
