Portugal Bans After-Hours Boss Calls

In November 2021, Portugal amended its labor laws so employers cannot call, text, or email workers outside of official working hours, except in emergencies. The rules require companies to respect employees’ privacy, rest, and family time and treat unjustified contact as a serious offense.
