Grinch Tablecloth Gag Happy Accident

During the famous tablecloth gag in Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000), Jim Carrey was supposed to yank the cloth and send all the dishes crashing to the floor. Instead, he accidentally pulled the tablecloth clean off without knocking anything over, unintentionally performing a flawless magician-style trick. Realizing the mistake, he ran back into frame and improvised wildly, knocking everything down by hand, giving the scene the chaotic payoff the filmmakers actually wanted.
