During the filming of Guys and Dolls (1955), Frank Sinatra reportedly needled Marlon Brando by repeatedly calling him "Mumbles" to mock his acting style. What began as a mild feud escalated as Brando grew to hate the nickname and the constant jabs. To get back at Sinatra, Brando deliberately pretended to forget his lines in a scene that required Sinatra to eat each time they restarted, forcing him to keep eating over and over as the takes piled up.
