1992 First Confirmed Exoplanets Discovered

The existence of planets outside our solar system, now called exoplanets, was not confirmed until 1992. That year, astronomers used precise measurements of radio signals from a pulsar to detect tiny timing variations that revealed the presence of planets orbiting it.
