Microsoft Kin Phone Fails Quickly

In 2010, after investing two years and about 1 billion dollars, Microsoft launched the Kin line of mobile phones in partnership with Verizon. Poor sales followed almost immediately, and Microsoft discontinued the entire Kin line in June 2010 after only 48 days on the market. Afterward, Microsoft blamed Verizon for not promoting the phones actively enough.
