Miami Cannibal Lacked Bath Salts

In May 2012, police in Miami shot and killed Rudy Eugene after he violently attacked Ronald Poppo beside a causeway and chewed off parts of his face. Early news reports and officials speculated that Eugene had taken synthetic drugs known as bath salts and nicknamed him the Miami cannibal. Toxicology tests later found only marijuana in his system and no bath salts or similar drugs.
