Tranquillity Lodge 2000 Claims Moon

Tranquillity Lodge No. 2000 is a Masonic lodge that claims jurisdiction over the Moon and traces its authority from the Grand Lodge of Texas, where Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin is a member. Before the 1969 mission, the Grand Master of Texas issued Aldrin a special deputation authorizing him to claim Masonic jurisdiction on the lunar surface on their behalf. Aldrin carried this document with him to the Moon, and, after the landing in the Sea of Tranquility, the lodge later took its name.
