Swiss Miss From Korean Surplus

Swiss Miss From Korean Surplus

During the Korean War in the early 1950s, a supplier produced large quantities of powdered coffee creamer for the U.S. military. When the fighting wound down, they ended up with excess inventory that they no longer needed for wartime rations. To avoid wasting it, they repurposed the surplus creamer by blending it with cocoa and sugar to create the first instant hot cocoa mix, later sold as Swiss Miss.
