Henry Lee Lucas First Murder

Henry Lee Lucas First Murder

Henry Lee Lucas grew up in Virginia with an abusive alcoholic mother who beat him so badly that she once attacked him for accepting a teddy bear from his elementary school teacher. As an adult, during a drunken argument in 1960, he stabbed his mother to death, making her his first known murder victim.

Lucas later confessed to hundreds of killings across the United States and was convicted of multiple murders, and for a time authorities portrayed him as one of the most prolific serial killers in history, even though many of his claimed crimes were eventually discredited.
