Chante Mallard Windshield Murder Case

In October 2001 in Fort Worth, Texas, 25-year-old Chante Mallard drove home after a night of drinking and hit 37-year-old homeless man Gregory Biggs with her car, leaving his body lodged in the windshield. Instead of calling for help, she drove one and parked the car in her garage with Biggs still stuck in the glass and visited him repeatedly as he bled. She at one point even apologized to him but never phoned emergency services. Biggs died several hours later from blood loss.

In 2003 a jury convicted Mallard of murder and tampering with evidence, and the judge sentenced her to 50 years in prison.
