The Scientology Killing of Elli Perkins

In 2001, when Elli Perkins, a Scientologist mother, saw her son Jeremy develop symptoms consistent with schizophrenia, she refused to seek psychiatric care because of her beliefs and instead tried alternative medicine. As years went by and Jeremy grew paranoid, he believed she was trying to poison him. He murdered her in 2003. He was found not responsible by reason of mental disease.
