Madalyn O'Hair's Texas Disappearance

In 1995, atheist activist Madalyn Murray O'Hair, whose legal fights helped end mandatory school prayer in U.S. public schools, disappeared from Austin with her son Jon Garth Murray and granddaughter Robin. Former employee David Roland Waters orchestrated their kidnapping and extortion. He and accomplices murdered and dismembered the three and buried the remains on a Texas ranch. Authorities recovered the bodies in 2001 as the case finally unraveled.
