Boeing Engineers Criticize 737 Max

In January 2020, internal employee messages released by Boeing showed staff mocking the FAA and criticizing the 737 Max before the 2018 and 2019 crashes that killed 346 people. One employee wrote that the plane was "designed by clowns, who are in turn supervised by monkeys." The disclosures intensified scrutiny of Boeing's safety culture after the two disasters.
