Denali Brehmer's $9 Million Catfish Killing

In 2019, 18-year-old Denali Brehmer from Alaska was manipulated by a man she met online who claimed to be a wealthy millionaire. He assured her that she would receive 9 million dollars if she killed her best friend, Cynthia Hoffman, and provided evidence of the crime. Brehmer recruited four friends to help carry out the murder, binding and shooting Hoffman before dumping her body near a river. The "millionaire" turned out to be a catfish named Darin Schilmiller, and all five teens were arrested for the brutal, senseless crime.
