Roberto Solis: Poet Turned Fugitive

In 1969, Roberto Solis was sentenced to life in prison for murdering an armored truck driver during a failed robbery in San Francisco. While behind bars, he reinvented himself as a poet under the name Pancho Aguila, earning literary praise and support from well-known writers who petitioned for his parole. After his release in 1992, Solis vanished with Heather Tallchief after stealing an armored truck loaded with 3 million dollars in Las Vegas, and both of them remain at large to this day (October 2025).
