Age of Empires DS Save Bug

In 2006, players of Age of Empires: The Age of Kings on the Nintendo DS discovered a fatal glitch in the game's save system. If a save file name contained fewer than four characters, the error would corrupt data and permanently brick the cartridge. The developers, unable to patch the flaw, included warning slips in subsequent versions of the game, advising players to steer clear of short file names.
