Richard Jordan's Legal Battles

A Mississippi criminal named Richard Gerald Jordan was first sentenced to death in 1976, then again in 1977 and 1983, each time successfully appealing his sentence. He accepted a 1991 plea deal for life without possibility of parole. He then again re-appealed the deal, which was later ruled invalid and led to a 1998 resentencing to death. He was ultimately executed by lethal injection in 2025.
