Israeli Ambassador Recalled from El Salvador

In early 2007, Israeli diplomat Tsuriel Raphael, serving as ambassador to El Salvador, was found outside the embassy drunk, naked (except for bondage gear), hands bound, and gagged. His identity was only confirmed after police removed a rubber ball gag from his mouth. Although he did not face criminal charges, the Foreign Ministry recalled him due to his "behavior unbecoming of a diplomat," which resulted in career embarrassment for him.
