Often seen in gardens, parks, and floral arrangements, Lily of the Valley is highly toxic in all parts. It contains cardiac glycosides that can trigger nausea, irregular heartbeats, or death, and even the water from a vase containing its flowers is poisonous. Uniquely, its scent (from the compound bourgeonal) is notably more potent for males and has the curious effect of aiding sperm motility.
