Brugmansia

This ornamental plant is visually stunning but dangerously hallucinogenic and toxic. Indigenous cultures reportedly gave Brugmansia to unruly children, believing it would allow spirits to scold them. In one horrifying case, a man drank a single cup of Brugmansia tea and subsequently amputated his own tongue and penis. Its alkaloids can induce delirium, psychosis, and death.
