Before filming the 1957 courtroom drama 12 Angry Men, director Sidney Lumet and cinematographer Boris Kaufman rehearsed inside an actual New York City jury room. They blueprinted 365 separate shots from every angle of the confined set before production began. The planning helped the crew finish filming in just 17 days, although the opening shot through the blades of a ceiling fan consumed the entire first day.
